1968 AMC Javelin

In response to the increase in the Pony Car Market, AMC produced the Javelin which prove to be successful in its first year with over 56,000 units built. However, the Javelin was roomier, larger and longer than its Pony Car counterparts such as the Mustang, Camaro and Barracuda. Javelin SST models were equipped with a 343 cu. in. 4-bbl V8 engine that puts out 280 hp at 4800 rpm. Also available for that model was the "Go" package including a heavy-duty sway bar, heavy-duty shocks, wide tread tires, dual exhaust and front power disc brakes. With the Go Package, the car could run from 0 to 60 in 8 seconds and top out at 120 mph.
