Chevrolet Impala |
The Chevrolet Impala began it's introduction in 1958 as a top of the line trim option on the Chevrolet Bel Air. As the Bel Air lineup in 1958 featured all new and "one year only" styling, the Impala option added special trim and deluxe interiors. The result was stupendous and Chevrolet made the Impala a madel of it's own in 1959. In 1961 the Chevrolet introduced the 409 V8 as an option for the Impala, which is credited to launching the race and competition for horsepower that lasted well into the 1970s. The Chevrolet Impala had a long run that lasted into the 1980's, and was again reintroduced in 1994-1996 as an SS model, and again in 2000, as a Impala 4 door sedan.
